I am not anti-american, but I think that turtle or hayq has a point there.
I will explane why I think so:
first of all a news program made this vote or survay, and they found out that most of the people that voted want americans out of europe and out of other countries. basiclly they want americans to go home.
second of all, america aint a superpower.
in 1993 america returned home defeated after loosing to somolian rebels.
America with all that great and advanced military technology lost to a bunch of rebels using Ak-47s RPGs and Technecals.
America likes to stick its nose into other peoples buisness, and when they stick their nose in, they can't get it out.
take Iraq as an example, America captured Iraq very fast and now they have Iraq "under their control".
most, if not all the Iraqi population wants them out of Iraq. and they can't stop the rebels from attacking them from every corner.
If america leaves Iraq, then a new leader will rise in Iraq that will probably be anti-america, and he will probably have lots of supporters.
so now america is stuck, they can't get out, and the longer they stay there, they loose more men.
why did america go to Iraq in 2003? because Iraq got weapons of mass destruction? said who?
so they found a shell loaded with chemical weapons. That shell could probably be fired to a range of about 40km. that means that he can fire his chemical shell at his arabian allies.
This is just a small example of the americans sticking their nose to other peoples buisness and "helping" others.

I would also like to add that the Canadian Airborne Regiment was disbanded because its troopers were harassed and looted by the locals, and the final straw for the airborne troopers was when the locals looted their mail, a serious NO-NO against any trooper, much less a paratrooper.
As for US policy, as much as I dislike many aspects of it (especially the Bush admin's policy,) there was zero incentive in Somolia other than trying to stop a massacre. You can criticise the way it was carried out but I don't think you can criticise the motive. Finally, let us not forget that the Somolia mission was a UN-backed mission.

Do you realise that American interference in the Middle East is almost entirely beneficial towards Israel? I am genuinely curious, would you prefer the USA to stop all of its interactions in the Middle East, including the withdrawal of US aid to Israel?

for your information, Israel has an Airforce musiem, In which planes and helicopters like the F-15, F-16 and Apache are presented.
There are tons of guides that tell you about the planes.
I made this experiment and this is what I found out
when I asked people in school and other places:
my question was:
when I tell you the word helicopter, what do you think about?
They all answered the same answer: Apache!
once when we were in P.E class (sports) we herd a loud hovering noise, we all looked back and saw 2 helicopters flying. guess what, all of the guys said: "hey look 2 apache helicopters" (no one in my class knows alot about weapons). And the 2 helicopters where really Apaches!
If you ask people in Israel that don't know much about weapons this question:
what weapons do you know?
one of the weapon's name that they will give you will be Apache.
Israel could do just fine without apaches and F-15s.
Israel would then buy weapons from other countries like Russia.

Shocktrooper I think you have missed the point. Apache was an Aboriginal warrior tribe that roamed North America, before being killed off by white Americans. In many ways the Apachees were like the Mongols: nomadic, mobile, well organised during warfare and they followed a warrior code of conduct. "Apache" was chosen as the name for the AH-64 because McDonnell-Douglas, the original manufacturer, believed its helicopter was a "tough warrior" on the battlefield.

Those F-15s, F-16s and AH-64s were given to Israel, NOT purchased. Sorry to say but "purchasing" with US taxpayers' money is NOT a real purchase in the true sense of the word. And Russia doesn't give weapons anymore, not since the USSR collapsed.

thanks god arabs don't know how to use weapons well. If you noticed arabs use M-16s as well, and they still suck at fighting.
On that point I can agree! There was absolutely ZERO excuse for the Arabs to get routed during the 1956, 1967 and 1973 Arab-Israeli wars! Those Arab militaries were supplied to the same extent by the USSR as the USA was supplying Israel. Worst of all, Israel only had about 3.5 million people during that time. Comparing equipment, the T-55 was superior to the Centurion and equal to the M-48; the MiG-21 was about equal to the Mirage 3; and the AK-47 is legendary for its reliability.
Quite simply, the combined Arab armies were not up to the task. They proved they needed either Soviet, East German or even Cuban officers to lead them.
