LOL, well, this is for sure a Humvee rip off, even though it has two sets of extra rear wheels, and looks are slightly different. But hell, as long as it does the job, I don't care who or what we ripped off, in fact, I think its rather a clever thing to do on the part of Iran, because we are taking an idea that has already proven to be good, and improving it. This saves Iran allot of money and time. This is the real reason why Iran has advanced so quickly and with relatively little cost in being able to produce all sorts of high tech weapons!

Salonika, Greece

imagen
At the moment, the Salonika factory has a 2 ½ year contract for the supply to the Greek army of 2,500 G-Wagens, which will make the total made in Greece some 8-9,000 units since assembly started a few years back.

imagen

Post 1990 orders are of the naturally-aspirated 290 GD with 94 BHP and still manual.
imagen
imagen
Small badge reads "ELBO, S.A. Licence Daimler-Benz AG"
imagen
For ease of operation and to prevent costly repairs, neither front- nor rear diff-locks are specified for Greek G-Wagens!
imagen
Imagen
Additionally, ELBO is currently supplying 250 RHD G-Wagens to the Cypriot army. In this case is a SWB soft top desert spec (somehow ressembling the UK SAS supplied Pink Panther Land Rovers)
imagen
imagen
The engines are fully assembled in-house. The chassis, wiring loom and many body parts are either made in the ELBO factory or locally sourced.
imagen

ELBO is a private Greek company licensed by Mercedes-Benz to manufacture the G-Wagen for the Greek and Cypriot armies. It is currently the only other location where the G-Wagen is made, apart from the Graz (Austria) factory.
Imagen
imagen
All the Greek army G-Wagens are Mercedes badged. The first versions of the G-Wagen made in Salonika were of the 462 series 240 GD, fitted with the very sluggish 2,4 litre 4 cylinder diesel with 72 BHP and a 4 speed manual gearbox.

imagen
But the current contract specifies the 290 GD mated to the 4-speed auto gearbox.

Unlike the Greek version, the Cypriot G-Wagen comes with hydraulically lockable rear differential

Just the fact that you most likely hate the US, and the Iranians are copying a American design is just hypocrytical

"Just the fact that you most likely hate the US, and the Iranians are copying a American design is just hypocrytical"

Well, I don't know where to start. Your ignorance is rather baffling actually. Firstly, A large part of my family was born and lives in the U.S, including my older brother, so your comment about me Hating the U.S just goes to show how much you know, and how much you rely on your ignorance to judge people with. Secondly, Iranians are in fact very fond of the U.S, even though they do dislike the U.S government. Thirdly, the Iranian vehicle is NOT a COPY of the Humvee, even though it might have had its design inspirations from the U.S Humvee, even a blind man could tell that its not a copy. And finally, you don't know the meaning of the word hypocrite, (which you have spelled incorrectly), otherwise you wouldn't have used it in such a context; how would it make Iran a hypocrite if we make a vehicle that resembles a U.S origin vehicle!
Man, If you really had served in the Canadian armed forces, just by judging from your worthless comments, I can tell that you must have been used as Cannon fodder, which surly would suit your mental abilities!
