i want to know the worlds opinion of nuclear weapons for it is a question that has bugged me for a long time.dont ask any questions because i will not be going on for 24 hrs now unless you really want to and please dont go off the sublect. what do you think of nukes shoul the whole world have them? no one have them?
only the countries which do have them keep them and no more countries getany?
or finally just the uk and the us should have them?

i think that canada should either make nukes but if the americans wont allow them then to ally up with china preferably or even russia who have the capability to hit the U.S with a nuke. they dont necessarily have to have thhem themselves.

WHAT ? Canada doesn't need the permission of the USA, or their help. Canada is one of the few countries capable of producing weapons grade Plutonium on a whim.
Also, Canada is no slouch is space Technologies, we could make rockets and missles but don't waste money on that.
HOW WOULD THE USA NOT ALLOW US ?! THAT DOES NOT MAKE SENCE.

When the steel swords outdid their copper and bronze counterparts, people like some of us here probably complained that "it ain't fair". Sorry, war is neither about honor nor is it about fairness. A major part of war is technology, and that requires scientific development. If your country neglected that department, too bad. In war, we don't care about your loss of life, in war, first concern is to win with as few casualties possible on our side.
If India ever goes to war with Pakistan, we will be sorry if we try to be "chivalrous" and don't use our nuclear weapons first, because they WILL be used on us. Also, who said that tanks were chivalrous and nuclear weapons weren't? To some, the guns are dishonorable, swords and chariots are honorable. And to some, swords are dishonorable, pebbles and stones are.
Another thing, nuclear weapons aren't the end of scientific development. For science, the sky is the limit. There are already missile shield systems being developed, like the American Patriot missile, the Israeli Arrow 2 and the Russian S-300V. Today, they aren't that successful, but the work has just begun. One day, ICBMS will be shot down, or maybe, their systems will be hacked into and diverted back to their source.
There are even greater weapons in the future, greater than the nuclear missile, and along with that, will also come great defensive measures that will be able to guard against these.

Man, you can have the tech to design/develop nukes, but you need at least to test it ONCE and you must have rocket to deliver it or you must at least mount it on a plane ALL of this need BIG ACTIONS you cannot just hide pretending you didn't have it, so WE will all know you are doing it IF you are doing it, so their big neighbor will step in to ask INSPECTIONS, so you DO need PERMISSION from USA lol

however with a fast enough computer this becomes mute, both the US and UK no longer test weapons we use computer simulations to develop new warheads designes without the need. Hell the idiot Public record office released the plans for Blue Danube and the associated weapons onto the net a few years ago for anyone to download.

You know why India is a nuclear power ? Becasue of the CANDU reactors built for them. Now the have 10 and are building 6 new ones based on the CANDU design..
Although it wasn't a CANDU reactor that gave them the ability, it was a test reactor that Canada "gave" India the designes to. IT was all part of a "technology transfer".

1. fool/meemperor. the usa does not allow canada to have nukes because the americans consider that the whole of their continent belongs indirectly to them and they call it "our backyard" and any country in that area isnt allowed to have nukes because the americans dont want nukes so close to them. the same thing happened in the Cuban missile crisi orf 1962. the americans were paranoid and still are.
2. this is for drkstr. america would never allow canda to even have the potential how have nukes within weeks. see number one.
3. this is for bharat. if you are as powerful as america you can curb your neighbouring country's developement no matter what anyone else says. however i do agree with you on the india pakistan issue. we cannot afford to be chivalrouse but lets stay on this subject i may start a new thread on that soon. and for science even the sky is not the limit the americans are developing star wars a space sattelite to shoot down ICBMs from space.

6.now back to fool/meemperor again (sigh) yes ok so what if you gave us the power to develope nuke ok you are capable and have reactors that dosent mean that YOU yourselves have the capacity to deveope missiles which can carry nukes even if you can build the nukes themselves.
7. last but not least is to Hayq. i think that you are totally wrong because if only two countries had them they could bully other countries into doing what they wanted to do and soon interests would clash and there would be another Cold War and that would be history repeating itself and that would be stupid, a waste of time and a waste of a lot of money.
