Hi, I really can't decide what will benefit me more. I am 5'6 and weight 145. To get 11% body fat i must exercise and weight 134. I like the fact of being toned but its a bit to skinny. Also i want to gain muscle mass and i know i must choose between the one. Which one will benefit the most.
hey this is me im a boxer from wi im 5 6 140 pounds right this second but when i boxed at 134 i felt weak so i am startin to go up so i would rather have more body fat send me sumtin back
I find that it is good to have both...i think more muscle because it causes you to hit someone harder but i also thing you need body fat because if not each time you get hit in the body your going to get hurt more then someone bigger!!!i am from brooklyn and have been in MANY fights and i have very buff and im only 15 but i have beat up 20 year olds because i am strong, quick, and have body fat and i know what im doing os this is my personal thoughts.
it's not good to have too much body fat. you want more muscle tone. just workout until you get that muscle. because remember muscle it heavier than fat. if you gain weight by getting more body fat that is bad. you should gain weight by building muscle mass. but everyone needs to have some body fat.
fat doesn't protect you from body shots, tight muscles do. i would rather take a shot from george foreman if i had a tight 6 pack than take a jab from ur common amatuer with 50% body fat.
ok maybe thats a bit of an exaggeration, but you see my point.
