I've been training for the better part of 3 years....and yet i still have soft hands. I've tried just about everything, puching a leather bag full of beans bear hand, changing my wrapping techniques....just about everything. so if ne one has a tip send it over. and no...jacking off dont strethen ur hand :)
I am no boxer, but I hardened my hands through work on the field, I mean, working loosing soil, or using a shovel, or cutting stuff with a machete. I assure you you'll get calluses and blisters on your hands in no time which will make them harder. You mean Knuckles or hands? Knuckless jsut punch wood all the time, I'm pretty sure that'll make them harder.
hey thanx for the tip buddy, but my hands are very hard already from lifting weights. what i really wanna know is how to make my hands knuckels harder. as for punching a piece of wood i've tried sumtin a lil similar, but i only did it for a while cuz it would cut my knuckles...but now i hear that the scar tissue u'll get around ur knuckles actually helps. so once again thanx for the tip...and as of tomorrow imma become a termite cuz imma eat up that wood :)
WHEN TRYING TO BUILD HARDER HANDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF BOXING, I suggest doing push-ups on your fingertips. This will strengthen your hands and reduce reduce injury to your.Try to avoid doing push-ups on your knuckles, this will only add stress and make your hands sore .I'm a fourty-one year old x-boxer from Baltimore Maryland,I train youth boxing when time permits.Feel free to write back with any additional questions or concerns.
Whene I trained in Pentjak Silat (martial arts form) we used a bucket full of mung beans to harden our hands. We crouched down in front of it and punched into the bucket repeatedly for about five sets of 3-5 minutes. It worked for me. The second time I did it the skin from one of my knuckles was completely gone so dont do it for too long. There is more to it though so e-mail me if you are interested.
Hey look im 16 years old and ive been boxing for a 6 years now and i had the same problem as you did. What i did to make my hands harder was to find a hard wall and face a corner that both sides of the wall are free to hit and punch it bare handed and im not tellin u to go punch a brick wall jus a normal one and punch it you will notice your hands and nucles ger stronger after a while so the more you do it the more the stronger they will get and the hard you will be able to punch the one or anything thing at first just a weak punch may hurt thats expected but just keep going and trust me you will notice how you'll start punching that corner hard with less pain.
Don't go punching bags or walls with your bare hands. If you guys do that, then you will get arthritis. Trust me. A boxer can tell when someone is an amateur. Amateurs hit the bag without their baggloves. Don't do that. My hands used to get all shaky because of that. Finally learned that punching without the bag gloves creates arthritis. I've stopped hitting the bags bared handed for almost a year now, and my hands are still shaky. I can hardly hold a pencil without it shaking. So my tip for you is to continue to use bag gloves. When you box in the ring, you don't ever box bare handed anyways. peace.
