what i think you should do is train harder at the gym (lift heavier weight, less reps)and eat alot, eat 6 times a day, it's all about what you eat, if you want to be a big guy you should eat like a big guy, think like a big guy and train like one. If you do this you won't even need those protein shakes, which personally i do not recomed.

At your age, your testosterone levels are off the charts. This can be thought of as a double edged sword. In one hand, you are able to work out more frequently. In the other your metabolism is kicking ass.

Solution???

Eat no less than 125g/per day of protein. Make sure it is not soy based, and a variety of egg, whey, milk, and animal is for optimal results.

Second, bump up your calorie intake. Gaining weight is all about calories in vs calories out. So, if you burn naturally 3000 calories a day (highly unlikely but not impossible), you will only gain ANYTHING if you eat 3001+ calories daily.

3500 calories = 1 lb of body weight. So try eating between 2500-3500 calories per day. Trust me, it will be harder than you believe.

As well as proper calorie intake, for best results try not to intake more than 30g of protien at one time. This is because the body can only break down a certain ammounts @ a given time. The rule of thumb is every 30 min- 1 hr for 30g. We call this the anabolic process. Your body will just excess protein if you try to overload your system at one time.

To keep the anabolic process working, consume fats, carbs, and proteins throughout the day. At night, eat cottage cheese or any hard cheese due to hard cheeses being casien based. Casien is a slow digestive protein that will take many many hours to break down (making you anabolic for a longer period of time while sleeping). Do not consume whey before bed. This is because whey starts to break down instantly, and will totally break down within a half hour.

Hope this helps, let me know if you need anymore advice...
