Thanks for posting this, I was searching for discussion on the film b/c it was truly fascinating, just like Amores Perros too.....but I had forgotten the dedication at the end and could not read them fst enough in the theatre......I definitely appreciate your take on this but I think 'la perdida' may mean the chaff or the 'lost' part of the (corn) harvest.....adds a bit of meaningful layer to what Maria Eladia did and brings up the theme of regeneration, rising from the ashes, etc.....de todas maneras muchas gracias!
