I am so sorry.
My daughter and I have been following Spencer's ups and downs . Praying for him and cheering for him, as I'm sure many people have who have come to feel conected to him and his family in some small way in such a short time. There is a movie called Simon Birch that reminds me of Spencer. That little fellow was also a dwarf...with a heart of gold and a fighting spirit. He knew he had a purpose and that God would not take him until he filled that purpose. He lost his life in saving others.
Yes, it was a movie and Spencer was/is real but in some ways they are alike. Spencer didn't have a chance to grow, to become all he could have become, but he did have a purpose. He brought out the love and caring of many people who he never got to know. Folks, I think, are more aware of Newborn's in Need and helping families of special babies.
Spencer is now a twinkling star in an early Spring sky. He is a warm thought, a gentle memory and a special Angel tucked safe in God's caring embrace.
He had a purpose and he knew he was loved, by family...and those of us blessed by his family to allow us in to their lives and share little Spencer for the short while he was on this earth.
