misguided feelings of guilt

by

Well, I did say I would stop, but I guess there's more to add. It is a matter of argument, not feeling. I agree that I am not responsible to a large degree for the actions of others, and that the same holds for you. On the other hand, if I accept benefit from the injury or unfair treatment of others, whenever this happened (even when I cannot help doing so), I am an accomplice.

You pay your taxes. You cannot be happy, then, with the fact that some of your money goes to the war and is used to kill people. By choosing to live in this country, and by choosing not to break the way, however, you are an accomplice (along with the rest of us who are U.S. citizens who pay taxes). That cannot make you very happy, it is contrary to your intention, but it is true.

I used to think like you do, by the way, so I understand where you're coming from. We can just agree to disagree if you want. I want to talk about Bix!
