Interview exerpt of Andy Secrest from 1975

by

My husband visited Andy Secrest at his home several times in the 1970's.Luckily he brought his cassette recorder along and recorded some conversations he had with Andy.I am sending an exerpt from one of these recordings to Professor Haim so he can make a streaming file so forum members can hear Andy.
Unfortunately my husband is far from a professional interviewer and actually took an unfortunate juvenile approach at times when he talked to old jazz musicians even embarrassing them with sensitive questions they didn't want to talk about. But i think for a young man in his 20's to even look up old jazz musicians in the 1970s is something.
There probably aren't many recordings of Andy Secrest talking and even commenting about working with Bix and i thought this was worth sending to Professor Haim to share with the group.

Andy also had a tape that someone had put together for him of just exerpts from various radio broadcasts and recordings that have his solos.Andy let Tim copy the tape which may have had recordings from radio transcriptions that are not available today or even lost entirely. The tape is 15 to 20 minutes long of just Andy solo exerpt parts from various recordings.I copied 3 minutes and 51 seconds of the tape of these exerpts and am sending them to Professor Haim so he can make a streaming file to share with forum members.
