I am sorry but i can't supply any information on the bands or the dates of recordings. These excerpt recordings were on a reel to reel tape made especially for Andy Secrest. There were no notes for the tape.Tim said Andy had a friend who was able to play 16" radio transcriptions.Andy loaned the person some of the acetates and radio transcriptions from his garage and Andy's friend played them and taped the parts with Andy's solos onto 1 reel to reel tape. There were no notes made giving details on the bands or sources of each excerpt. But since Tim told me the excerpts were from some of Andy's radio transcriptions and private acetates i thought they would be worth sharing with the forum here as they might contain recordings from unknown radio transcripions. These recordings might be from a unique source and now unfortunately lost and worth listening to even if no details accompany them. These Andy solos have value as they show his development as a musician after his stay with the Whiteman band.I like the Charley My Boy excerpt. It appears these excerpts are from Swing era bands Andy worked with and the solos indicate Andy was a very capable player and jazz improvisor. On the Blowing Bubbles excerpt his solo sounds very Red Nichols influenced to me.The first 2 solo excerpts i think he is playing in Bix style. The Georgia on My Mind excerpt has a beautiful relaxed Andy solo and when i heard it i really wanted to send a copy of it to you so the group could hear it.

Also nothing else on the interview tape is of interest. At least Andy mentions Bix on the tape and since there was a post at the group on the century of Andy's birth approaching i thought the group might like to hear Andy's voice and hear him say something about Bix.
