In the interest of transparency, I feel obliged to post the following notice:
I founded the Bixography Forum almost a decade ago with the purpose of celebrating and disseminating the legacy of Bix Beiderbecke. I am certain that you realize that I have spent a lot of time and effort (and expense) in making the Forum a valuable center where Bix lovers from around the world can gather and exchange information and opinions about Bix and his music, as well as about related musicians. In addition, important announcements about Bix-related events are published regularly in the Forum.
I have always sought to keep the Forum open and widely accessible. Unfortunately, exceptional circumstances sometimes arise.
I am pretty sure you all know the name of Hans Eekhoff and are aware of our disagreements about several topics associated with Bix. What follows, however, is well beyond our differences of opinion.
For several months, Eekhoff has been bombarding me with insulting and abusive email messages. He forwards copies of his messages to dozens of people around the world, including current Forum contributors and readers.
I have ignored 99% of Eekhoffs defamatory messages. In recent days, the intensity and frequency of Eekhoffs assaults and calumnies has increased enormously. It is apparent that he is intent on destroying the Forum and vilifying me.
As the founder, owner, and host of the Bixography Forum, I have a responsibility to safeguard its integrity, and this occasionally involves addressing the problem of persistently malicious guests.
In view of Eekhoffs despicable and destructive actions (outside of, yet inextricable from, this venue), it would be absurd for me to continue to allow him admittance to the Forum, either as a participant or as a reader.
Effective immediately, Eekhoffs access to the forum pages is no longer permitted.
