I don't know about England since I'm in Toronto but I suspect Amy Winehouse is hugely popular everywhere and I'm surprised you don't hear her in LA. I know my niece has a cd or two interspersed amongst her rap crap. I only know her from TV and YouTube; there's some great YouTubes of her fronting a big band, but before we can claim her for our own, I've read she says she doesn't listen to jazz anymore. Our loss.
