If Evans protested....

by Jamaica

Evans went to court over the book, (I believe it was to halt the publication of "Man & Legend" into paperback, or a second printing), so that seems to indicate that it wasn't the book he intended. Scott Black has copies, at his site, of letters from Spiegel Wilcox, and Ruth Schaffner. Even though the letters are not in their entirety, it's obvious, the writers' displeasure over how the book's presentation turned out, if nothing else. It seems better, ultimately, that primary credit was given to Sudhalter, if this was not the information that Evans' wished to share.
