Lovely score, and, like the Chaplin stills, music and images of their time. It would be impossible to imagine anyone writing music such as this today. Just as Oliver, Armstrong, Bix and all the other greats, they were of that era, of that time, a time in recent history now gone forever. We look back to a time of innocence, in stark contrast to much of the ugliness we see and hear all around us in the world today. It may seem nothing more than nostalgia to some unenlightened folk, but how fortunate we are to have all those wonderful images and sounds captured for all time on film and disc.
