Ewwww is right, regarding Bee Palmer whining Singing the Blues -- I guess since she was the 1920's sexpot ("Shimmy Queen"), any caterwauling she did on stage, no one was really listening to-- they were watching HER. Get her into the recording studio -- a late 1920's studio obviously with NO WAY to enhance a voice with engineering; just the first crude electric microphones and and perhaps some guy to adjust the treble and bass on a soundboard, and there she was -- Bee Fingernails-on-a-Blackboard.
