Thanks a lot. Excellent versions, one with a big surprise (at least for me).
California Ramblers May 27, 1927. The great Adrian Rollini gives produces excellent solos on xylophon, and great breaks on bass sax.
George Hall's Arcadians May 30, 1927. Another trumpet player under the spell of Bix.
But the huge surprise comes at 2:27. I hear something very similar to the interlude in Bix's recording of "In A Mist." This was recorded months before Bix recorded his immortal composition. Help! I think we discussed the question of the interlude - a Bix invention or something "in the air"? I also believe that Frank once analyzed in detail the interlude in the Devonshire Restaurant Band recording of "Sax Appeal." HELP!
