Nick kindly sends this mp3 from his 78 record on British Imperial 2238. Thanks, Nick.
According to Rust's Dance Band Discography, this was recorded on Mar 12, 1930 by Adrian Schubert and His Orchestra and issued as by the Majestic Dance Orchestra on Per 15284, Re 8960 and Imp 2238. Nice arrangement and good solos on trombone and trumpet. The vocal is by Scrappy Lambert. Rust does not give the names of the musicians for this particular recording, but states that the band is similar to that for the Nov 15 and 26 recording sessions. Some of the musicians in the sessions were Mike Mosiello, ?Manny Klein, t; Tommy Dowd or Charlie Butterfield, tb; Tony Parenti, cl/as; ? Andy Sanella, as; Joe Dubin, ts. Listen
Can anyone identify the trombone and trumpet soloists? I'll throw in a guess for discussion: Manny Klein on trumpet.
Lots of Adrian Schubert recordings in youtube.
Try some of them. "Nobody's Sweetheart" has, according to Rust, Bobb Effros on trumpet and Miff Mole on trombone. An enterprising young man should write a bio-discography of the great Miff Mole.
