I'd heard the New York tribute to Bix on YouTube, which also features Sudhalter and other prominent American players, but this video shows off his improvisational skills more freely. He was indeed a fine musician firmly in the Bixian tradition carried forward by Tom Pletcher and now Andy Schumm.
Sudhalter's musical and literary body of work is, as you suggest, extremely impressive.
