Young Man with a Horn

by R.J. Laaksonen

You know it was Dorothy Baker, not Dorothy Parker, who wrote Young Man With A Horn. I read your review of the book (and movie) and you explain very well the similarities of Bix and Rick. Everybody used to think that the story of the book was the life of Bix with names changed, and almost everybody still does. I guess very few people have read both the novel and a Bix biography. Do you know if a new printing of the Philip and Linda Evans book is forthcoming? I missed the book when it first came out, and now used copies are very, very expensive.
