Collette, Earl Oliver.

by Albert Haim

Math Geek sends a link to this recording:

He writes "Any idea who's soloing on trumpet on this? It didn't sound like Earl Oliver to me. Suggestions?"

I looked for a recording of Collette by Earl Oliver in several data bases but met with failure. I found (not the music itself in all cases, just the reference) versions by the California Ramblers, the Broadway Bellhops, Irving Abrams, Harry Reser. Sam Lanin, Willie Creager, Ernie Golden, etc.

Can anyone identify the orchestra and the trumpet soloist? He listened to Red and to Bix.

Albert

Forget about the label. It has nothing to do with the recording being played.
