78 Online Discography is notoriously unreliable

by Ralph Wondraschek

- its listing for Bell 513 is wrong.

Looking up this issue in William R. Bryant's well-researched book "Bell and Arto Records", we find the following:

Bell 513 Collette (Kahn - Baer)
Earl Oliver & his Melody Men
Mx: 31136- (Studio: Emerson) Rec: c. May 1927

That's My Idea of Heaven (Johnson-Tobias-Sherman)
Club Mirador Orchestra [Johnny Johnson & his Club Mirador Orchestra]
Mx: 31128- (Studio: Emerson) Rec: c. May 1927
Note (both sides): Original issue on Bell

On Bell 518, we find:

Me and My Shadow (Rose-Jolson-Dreyer)
Sherman Club Orchestra
Mx: 31149- (Studio: Emerson) Rec: c. June 1927
Source issue: Emerson 3148 (Marlborough Dance Orchestra) (Rel: July 1927)

Magnolia (Mix the Lot, What've You Got?) (De Sylva-Brown-Henderson)
Club Mirador Orchestra [Johnny Johnson & his Club Mirador Orchestra]
Mx: 31153-2 (Studio: Emerson) Rec: c. June 1927
Source issue: Emerson 3149 (Johnny Johnson's Club Mirador Orchestra) (Rel: c. July 1927)

The 78 Online Discography list "Magnolia" also for Bell 518.
