This is a fascinating clip, not only for the obvious historical importance but because Handy takes it so much slower than most people who play "St. Louis Blues." (The earliest recording I've heard, by singer Al Bernard with the Original Dixieland Jazz Band in 1921 -- seven years after Handy composed it -- is a good deal faster than this.) Also I loved the paired sound of the prepared piano and banjo in his accompaniment.
