"Alexander, Where's That Band?" is also very fun. Both Pickett-Parham sides are full of breaks and interesting musical sequences. There are also two blues sides of B.T.W. with Cow Cow Davenport (piano with cornet) on youtube as well.
The scant outlines of B.T. Wingfield's story are intriguing, and vaguely familiar: born in 1903, a talented cornet player able to improvise with great facility. His family probably well-respected and successful. His professional career ended prematurely by some kind of break-down. Hmmm.... heard some of that before.
