More Than Satisfying

by James E.Parten

Interesting to listen to the Larry Abbott version of this tune again.

I do not hear any piano on this recording--nor any drums. And I hear three voices in the Vocal Refrain, not two.
The guitar here sounds like a tenor (four-string) instrument.

Interesting that, if this is Larry Abbott's date, why he seems to be so far back in the studio. It almost sounds like he's trying to peek over the shoulders of the two violinists, trying to gt a word in edgewise.

As far as I know, the only other record to come out under Larry Abbott's name appeared in Columbia's export series aimed at Spanish speaking audiences. It couples a straight reading of Charles G. Dawes' famous "Melody", with a Rudy Wiedoeft-styled showpiece called "Blue Streak".
A copy of this record is in the collection of Brad Kay.
