Poor Bix!

by Albert Haim

Bix Beiderbecke, another cornet player of the time, was a black musician from Iowa. Beiderbecke became a sucessful soloists without ever have learning to read music. His style came from what he heard around him, as well as popular records, which often included classical symphonies. His music was completely original. He used classical Eoropean style in his solos which was not common.

PS In the same page we find the following: "Other New Orleans musicians include King Oliver, Johnny Dodds, Jimmy Noone, and Fats Waller." Fats Waller a Nola musican? Give me a break!
