'...more honest...'?

by John Coffin

How honest can we be in the absence of more than fragmentary knowledge?
Bix, it seems, WAS arrested on a charge that would sully his character. But we just don't know if he was guilty. Or if the details may have been garbled or buried in euphemism.

In real life, of course, such accusations should never be dismissed out of hand. We've seen in recent incidences how far ignored moral rot can spread.

But with Bix, we have this single, startling, report with no real following demonstration about Bix's character or conduct.
