I have the Storyville magazines with the Ray Lopez articles

Thanks for that information on the book. I have the Storyville magazines with the articles on Ray Lopez. His letters to Ray Holbrook were in 2 issues. The detail in the Storyville article is no where near the volume or detail in the manuscript. Also have I learned that unfortunately Marilyn Fletcher passed away a few years ago. Her daughters inherited the manuscript and researchers have been in contact with them to have it published. The recollections of Ray Lopez hearing Bix and the Arcadia band are pertinent to this forum and when the manuscript is eventually published will elicit many comments here.
As to the recollections of New Orleans musicians hearing Bix are there earlier posts here about any members of the Arcadian Serenaders having any recollections about Bix?
When I was in New Orleans in 1983 I talked to Joe Mares who was at his brother's house when Bix and Tram visited Paul Mares after the Whiteman engagement in New Orleans in 1928. He remembers the jam session as did Armund Hug who was there and I have read how Bix helped him with In A Mist.
That is a nice picture of Ray Lopez you shared in your post. My husband met ray Lopez and here is another portrait of him he let my husband copy:
