Previous piano recordings of these two Bix tunes were done by Armand Hug (Louisiana) and Dick Hyman (Singin' the Blues).
Ms. Krall said, "I grew up on Vancouver Island, and in high school, everybody was listening to pop music, as was I. But I was also listening to Fats Waller and Bing Crosby and Ruth Etting and Annette Hanshaw and early Bix Beiderbecke recordings and a lot of other things in my room.
