Tex Brewster recorded in Detroit from March to Nov 1924, consistent with his address in the 1924 directory of musicians.

In Sep 1925 and June 1926, Brewster recorded with Howard Lanin in Philadelphia, consistent with the address in the 1925 directory. Howard Lanin ran a highly successful "society" band in Philadelphia for several decades. (In fact, Howard Lanin was born in Philadelphia).

In 1928, Brewster recorded with Meyer Davis's groups in New York, consistent with his 1930 address at 1600 Broadway (connection to Bix, Cinderella and New Yorkers).

Howard Lanin recorded tens of sides. Highly competent musicians, if not inspired. Try a few

Try "Melancholy Lou" in 1925 with Red Nichols and perhaps Tex Brewster according to Rust.
