Dory gives date as Nov 15th 1928, this is same date as R8 recorded 'My Angel' and 'All By Yourself....' and Ahola biography says he was NOT at that session. Rust/Forbes have suggested Chelsea Quealey, but they are not certain, so maybe Albert can get the experts to listen again. Does it sound like Quealey?

Interesting question. Let me quote from Dick Hall's biography of Sylvester Ahola.

Hooley's trumpet playing is often confused with that of Chelsea Quealey, Max Goldberg, Jack Johnson and Freddy Pitt, all of whom took his place [in the Rhythmic Eight sessions] when he was unavailable. Their work is aurally indistinguishale one from the other.

So the question is. Who is the trumpet player in the Rhythmic Eight Nov 15, 1928 recording of Dory Doree? Sylvester Ahola or Chelsea Quealey, or someone else? Enrico favors Hooley. Opinions?

      Albert
