WTC Memorial Landscape Designer Peter Walker has received a commission to landscape the land around the Freedom Tower according to achrecord.

This of course makes sense for Walker to present a unified landscape among the various parts of the memorial/Freedom Tower. However, it remains strange that such a high powered landscape artist is having to work with so little space. It would appear from the images thus far that Walker is doing nothing but planting a handful of trees. There’s no space for anything else at Ground Zero since so many buildings are shoehorned in there. Even the original WTC was not as crowded.
