I am still a virgin and a little embarresed i am even asking people this but
I have tried lightly shaving my vagina and inner thights a few months back, at first it looked allright but 2 days later I had loads of little red bumps and looked nasty but went after another few days but then my hair has grown back again. I am scarred that if I shave the whole of my vagina is would all go bumpy and look even worse. I don't want to buy any special cream or wax, I am more confortablet using simple shaving but really just wondering if there's any point in me shaving at all. I am scared that if I ever start to have sex that my boyfriend may not like my vagina hairy. please give me advice
You might be more sensitive than other women, so I suggest you use shaving cream that is for women when shaving, and if you keep getting the rash, ask your gyno what they recommend.
Another thing, if you don't want to have too much hair but can't remove it all, why don't you simply trim it? Take off most of it but leave a little bit there?
I personally think that waxing is the best solution, it's clean, safe, and the hair doesn't grow back as coarse, nor as fast.
Oh, and it could be that your body hasn't gotten used to the shaving, and that the more frequently you do it, the less bumps you'll have, but I have no idea on this one, sorry

Okay, I know this probably sounds weird, but after a long time trying to figure out the best way to remove hair, I have started tweezing. I know what you are thinking: OUCH! Yeah, the first time, it hurt, but it's just like eyebrows...after a couple of times, it's no big deal. Also, it would be time consuming if you did the whole thing...but I leave a triangle/landing strip and tweeze the sides. And it's also not hard to upkeep...I just keep tweezers in a drawer in my bathroom and when I have to go and I see some stubble, I take a few minutes and it's taken care of. It has the benefits of waxing, but it's free...and you get no razor burn. Also, I only do that to the top part/pubic mound. The bottom where it's next to the labia, I shave that because it is too far down there and it is not as sensitive. Hope this can be of use to someone!
wow, i actually feel like this is me talking here, i have exactly the same problem, but i thought i was on my own, and you would probably feel the same way about yourself now. I was paronoind at one stage, becuase i thought that i was the only one! and i'm not sure about how much pubic hair other women have, so that makes me even more uncomfortable about the situation. At the moment i'm just shaving my higher thigh, trimming now and then and also shaving just a little in than my knicker line. I think taht it will do for now !
