I coach 8 & 9 year olds, run the wishbone, and have had some success running it for the last two years but am looking to switch to the Double Wing for next season. Any info and help (terminology, positions, etc...) would be greatly appreciated and I am also looking for about 20 plays or so to create a new playbook. I have found some online but am always interested in more!

Why are you looking for 20 or so plays to make a playbook you only need about 7-10 to dominate any defense. I have used to Dwing for 5 years now and it has never let me down I have ran only 7 plays for the whole time and we have never been out of a game... For more info email me.

I coached a 3rd and 4th grade team about two years ago and we ran the wishbone and were very sucessful. I am now coaching a 5th and 6th grade team and have been very interested in all the articles I have read about the double wing. I would love to see the plays you have for the double wing.
Thank you
Alan

I have coached little league football for several years as a Defensive line coach. This year I was asked to coach the offense. I know a few plays from the I formation and the Pro set formation but I am very interested in your Double wing plays. I am new to offense and very eager to learn. Besides we are 1-2 at the moment and I would like to turn things around.
Thanks,
Waymon

There is a great DW Coach that is very good at what he does and is willing to help all. His name is Coach Steve Calande. I am not sure what his website address is but if you are interested, email me and I will try to pass the message on.

The most important part od the flexbone is keeping play names simple.I have ran this with my high school team here in pennsylvania with great success.First of all if you dont have a good athletic fullback dont even bother.Keep it simple like fullback is 40, wing on left is 30 (odd number side),wing on right is 20(even side).I call my motion with the wingbacks rip(right)LIZ (left). A play you could try is a simple pitch to the full back i call it RIP 48 PITCH.Motion 30 back right with a pulling guard and this gives you 3 lead blockers to the right.I could go on all day about this offense so if anyone has any questions just email at earley@roadlynx.net.I hope this helps someone out there.

I believe that to run the Double Wing offense successfully you need to keep it simple. Run the power series (off-tackle) with its base complements (5-7 plays). The Double Wing is very practice-intensive to be run right. However, when done right it will provide the smash-mouth, ball-control style offense that kids enjoy and leads to multiple chances to succeed.
Coach Calande's site is www.coachcalande.com
and I would have to concur- He's a very knowledgeable coach and has always been available to answer my Questions in the past. I know he has a Delphi Forum too...Sorry, don't have that site address offhand but it's called The War Room and it should be easy enough to find on Delphi.
