Convo is convo, right?
Too bad KC is on your long, long, long, long, long list. But do try to make it some time before we all pop off. I'm serious about the BBQ. People who have KC BBQ learn to laugh when they see it offered in other regions. You'll never look back. I have to say they do it well in Memphis, but the Memphis-ites learned from attending contests here. They actuall win a lot of our contests I'm embarrassed to report, but they learned it here. They won't admit it, and I don't expect them to. Kansas City and Memphis. BBQ everywhere else is shit - especially in Texas, which I'm more than happy to report.
Sweet tea? I love iced tea but never sweetened. I have iced tea for breakfast nearly every day. I'm not a sugar type of guy though. Mooster don't dig the sweets except on occasion. I went on a road trip with a friend of mine who is originally from Georgia. And by that I mean pure south Georgia stereotype. He likes sweet potato pie, fried everything and I swear there isn't anything he won't drown in ketchup (I don't even own any ketchup). Anyway, we went down south and I almost always order iced tea in a restaurant. I couldn't down there. It was brown sugar. I asked for unsweetened tea and from the looke the waitress gave me, you would have thought I had asked to see her vagina (that was going to be my next question so I'm glad I asked about the tea first). Way down south ways, unsweetened tea is "unfinished" tea. I ended up drinking a lot of beer but that was par too.
Come to KC - any of you.
