Response to I don't understand this...
...A weather system rotating in a particular fashion was hitting us with winds from the Northeast, and "Tonto" (don't ask...I forgot how that nickname got started) with winds from the Southwest. I'd say it's "semi-irregular", as I've heard of it before, but usually the systems rotate in the opposite direction, so it's Northerly winds on the lead edge for both cities on the lead edge, and Southerly on the trailing edge, or cover too big an area for their to be contrasting winds for each city.
