Visited it today with a friend made at another site.....or what is left of it. The place covers less than a quarter acre.
There is a poor marker commemorating Lincoln's climbing to the top of the wall to view the fight with Early's troops. It is in a residential neighborhood and the topography of the fight isn't really visible. The garbage in the trenches is just sad. I can say I was there, and I won't be going back!
