For my own knowledge, i hit the net and really like Castle Realm. When first starting out, i learned a lot there for the basics. Now, i aim for the real obscure sites (some of the ones wishybutt included) for the oddities within BDSM - the extreme stuff. W/we may not practice it, but my curiousity is there.
For research topics, i use the net to get started, but still use the local university library for the APA journals and the published articles. No, i am not in college. i just love to gather information re topics that interest me. This does remind me though of a paper i did write in college before i knew i was submissive - it was on S&M and focused on Elizabeth Bathory - a noble woman just as (in)famous as de Sade for sadism. Think i blew the prof's mind. Another one i wrote was on male sexual dysfunctions called "The Oops Syndrome". i love shocking profs... HEE!
For knowledge from other RT BDSMers, i come to this board and to other sub boards. That way i get real information directly from those who practice it. i love the topics that make me think. grin
The other source that settles my soul is a bookstore like the Book Stop or Barnes&Noble. Browsing the ailes in my favourite sections can take hours with me. Buying books online just doens't do it for me. i have lately discovered erotica written by women for women and some delve into BDSM. The ones i've read so far don't go into it as deep as i would like, but they are still interesting and sometimes offer new things to try. smile
