The first thing I want to say about this is about Mistress Steel's writing style. She uses hyperbole a lot. I think she uses it to learn something about those who give her feedback. My personal opinion is that she is looking to see...did I push your buttons or did you look deeper than the surface?
Frequently, on first reading, her essays and articles push buttons and get a reaction out of me...not a response, a reaction. On re-reading, with a bit more objective nature, I see the buttons she pushed. I think she does it on purpose. She might not. I have met some people who do that...pull knee-jerk reactions from people when they talk about something, simply to get the response he/she desires. I do it sometimes.
