It is not because I can't understand him. But if you read Revelation and don't think the author was under some sort of influence -- perhaps just hallucinating due to fasting -- then really our brains work much differently.

If incoherence is a sign of revelation, then I wonder what "God is not the author of confusion" means.

No, the study of amanita and Christianity came from a respected scholar. John Allegro. Well, respected until he wrote that book. Very courageous of him, academic suicide it was.
