"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it" (Matthew 7:13-14).
This is WHY there is universal salvation, (according to Biblical teaching).
The few who "find it" were supposed to be the ones who help implement salvation for the rest -for those that DON'T find it.
Jesus said, " I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." -John 10:10
He also said, "They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." -Mark 2:17
No DOUBT, there are always "few there be that find it" but that's the job of those who ARE righteous and those who come to repentance ... to HELP bring salvation to all of those who don't find it on their own.
This is like labor laws, health care, senior security, pension plans ... and all the things that set an advanced society apart from a non-organized society where it's every man for himself and winner takes all.
"Salvation" was not about going to heaven; it was about creating a good, decent equitable life on earth .... with security and opportunity for EVERYONE. And naturally, it's always the "few" who set it up to work ....for the many ... who otherwise would never find it on their own.
