i am pretty sure Jesus was explaining that we need to invite Him/Holy Spirit
into our hearts so that we can THEN be able to discern spiritually, because
we are still of the carnal mind without His Guidance.
Spiritual {the Holy Spirit within us after we ask Him in} discerns spiritual.
Carnal {our minds before we ask Him in} cannot discern spiritual.
Which explains the non-Believers POV .... they read Scripture as one would
read a machine manual, and they misinterpret most of It.
However, we Believers read Scripture via the Holy Spirit's Guidance and thus
interpret most of It correctly. Noone interprets It all as It should be
because of the many translations and sermons on It over the centuries.
