It's allegory, obviously. Even most literalists would agree.
What's it mean exactly? What was the need to emphasize it?
Just thinking aloud, but if you have answers, please share. I'd also be interested in what JB and Yvonne have to say, as they do seem to see much of the Bible allegorically -- this would be allegory squared!
