Response to Historical Jesus Theories

The link and excerpt I posted wasn't from Eisenman's Work...
But, rather, it was a Review of Eisenman's Work, written by... Robert M. Price.

Eisenman himself is meticulous about even the most obscure details imaginable.
Both of his major works...
-- James, the Brother of Jesus...
And the sequel to it...
-- The New Testament Code: The Cup of the Lord, the Damascus Covenant, and the Blood of Christ...
Are over a thousand pages each...
And, the NT Code...
Doesn't include the footnotes.
-- The book provides a URL...
-- The footnotes are Online.

Sooooo...
You aren't familiar with the names of some first century, Jewish, Messianic Characters...?
And...
The dating seems a bit "wonky"...
-- By "traditional" Christian standards...?

Well, that's pretty much the point... isn't it...?

These guys actually left a trail on the pages of HISTORY...
On the Other Hand...
-- Gospel Jesus is pretty much isolated to the pages of the NT...
-- AND... The writings of the Early Church Fathers.

Now...
This obscure itinerent son-of-a-carpenter...
-- Jesus of the gospels...
You believe you are fairly well acquainted with...
And, those other guys...?
-- Eh... Nobody special.

But, really, all we know about gospel Jesus...
Is what the Church WANTS us to know...
And...
We KNOW that the NT text has been "tampered" with...
Soooooo...
The question is...
-- How Much of IT... Is pure fabrication...?

As for dating the Gospel Texts...?
Well, the earliest of the Gospels...
-- Mark...
Was, quite possibly, written in Response...
To the activities of the Jewish War (c. 66-70)...
-- Matthew was composed between the years c. 70 and 100
-- For Luke... Most critical scholars place the date c 80 - 90
And, the consensus for John falls somewhere between c. 90 - 100.

And, as we can see...
Even with these "traditional" dates.
There is still...
Plenty of leeway for Eisenman's version of the events.

But, if the the Gospels were written AFTER the destruction of the Temple at Jerusalem...
Then... Why wasn't it mentioned as an "event"...?

Well, maybe that's because...
The gospel authors had Gospel-Jesus "Prophesying" ABOUT the "coming" OF the "event"...
And, they had him crucified, resurrected and Raptured Up to Heaven...
About 40 years BEFORE the event...
So, at that time...
-- It wouldn't have BEEN an "event"...
And...
Let's face it...
If they tried to have it both ways...
Even the most gullible of village idiots...
Would have realized that...
ANYBODY can tell a "prophetic" tale...
-- AFTER the Event.

But, how do you decide who to believe...?
Well, that's up to you...

Me...?
I like to check things out and see how they stand in the light of day.
So far...
A guy who Calmed the Storms, Walked on Water, Turned Water into Wine...
Fed the multitudes on what amounts to little more than...
-- A McFishwich Happy Meal... (Without the Toy)...
Raised people from the Dead...
And Rose from the Dead himself...?
Naaahhh...
-- That ain't workin' for me.

On the other hand...
A Messianic Priest/King...
Who had "miraculous" stories ascribed to him...
By a bunch of ignorant Pagani...?
-- Much more realistic.
