And, what have I been saying all along...?

Response to Good find

Jesus was a Jew.
But...
If he wasn't a Pharisee or a Saduccee...
Then...
What kind of a Jew WAS He...?

Well...
There were three major sects...
And if we disqualify those two...
Then...
The one that's left is...
-- The Essenes.
-- aka "therapeuts"...
-- aka "magi"...
-- aka "children of the light"...
-- aka "the poor"...
-- aka "sons of Zadok"...
-- aka "followers of the Way"...
-- aka... Any other epithet you can find in the NT texts in reference to the followers of Christ.

And... Guess What...!
The Essenes regarded the Saduccees as a False Priesthood.
But...
The Saduccees were in cahoots with the Romans.
In-so-much-as being in cahoots with them meant that...
-- They wouldn't get turfed out of their Cushy, Power Positions in the Temple at Jerusalem.

The scribes and Pharisees weren't as powerful...
But...
-- Baths...?
-- Roads...?
-- Sewers...?
-- Policing...?
They saw the Roman Occupation as a "Good" thing...
And, they didn't want to disrupt the Status Quo.

The only Sect of Jews who were looking to overturn their Roman Oppressors...
-- And, of course, simultaneously wrest control of the temple OUT of the hands of the False Priesthood of the Saduccees...
Was...
-- The Essenes.

So...
Who was the "Messiah"...?
What was his Bloodline...?
What Prophecy was fulfilled by the congruence of those two bloodlines...?
And...
Which Sect of Judaism was eagerly waiting for that Prophecy to BE Fulfilled...?

Well...
Here's a hint...
-- Jesus, son of Mary and Joseph...
-- Descended from the Zadokite Priesthood...
-- AND... The Royal House of David...
-- Fulfilled the Prophecy of Jeremiah...
-- A Righteous (Zadokite) branch from the House of David...
-- Jesus was... THE Priest/King...
-- Eagerly Anticpated by...
-- The Essenes.

But...
I'll let you fill in the blanks.
