Response to Re: You digress, tim.

Were pagan fertility symbols long before Christianity arrived on the scene, tim.
But...
They weren't adopted by Christianity until long after Catholicism had become the Official Version of that Cult.
-- After Constantine and the Council of Nicea.
At which time, all other versions of christianity were declared to be... Heresies.
And...
They were summarily... Eradicated.

With Texts and followers... Burned...
-- In Holy Conflagrations...
The Catholic Church quickly became...
The ONLY remaining version of... Christianity.

As such, they were responsible for the preservation of the "sacred" texts we know today as... The Bible.

The mass production of that book...
Didn't begin until the days of Gutenberg...
-- And his famous press.

However, without the Catholic's preservation of the texts until that time...
-- There would have been no book for Gutenberg to print.

Now, honestly, tim...
-- Why do you insist on denying...
-- That which is owed...
-- To the Catholic Church...?
