I will try and find it. In short, there is this man in Kent, I think, who has/had the power / ability to draw forest creatures to him. He could go into the woods and keep still and soon all creatures would go to him. I believed actally that he whistked to them...
This is from Michael Bentine's A door marked summer , I think.
One of his books, most likely Summer.
Quite like Saint Francis.
Also another story from Kindred Spirit magazine. A woman was able to keep so still and quite and perfectly balanced that a spider wound its web on her face. I posted that at Many Paths once, I think.
I have made friends with a fox over the last 5 yers or so and she will sometimes take food from my hand. I feel real priviledged.
Just as a side line story, years back I went to a spiritualist who I had never met before and she said to me, 'every night you go to the back of your garden. I don't know why, but a quite little old lady here is telling me this, and she wears these little Victorian type lace up boots and dreses in black and lace. Her accent is like someone from Somerset. She says for me to tell you, never be afraid in the dark of your garden at night. She will always be there to protect you...'
Haha. So of course, after that, I was scared!!
My mum said the woman described fitted her granny, who was exceptionally tiny and indeed was from the Somerset region somewhere.
Now of course, I just say HI to her...
