John 4:24

"God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth" (John 4:24).

Because the KJV renders John 4:24 as "God is a Spirit" many incorrectly attempt to claim that Trinitarians teach that God is three spirits, which is not only absurd, but a complete MISREPRESENTATION of the Biblical doctrine of the Triune Godhead. It should be noted that the translation of pneuma ho theos does not have the indefinite article "a" since it did not exist in Koine Greek and literally reads, "spirit the God" ("the God is spirit") indicating that the Triune Godhead is composed of spirit matter. Of course, since God the Son has taken upon the body of flesh and ascended into heaven with this glorifed body of flesh, a change took place so that the Son is now and forever the God-Man, having both the nature of God and the nature of man in what is known as the hypostatic union.

It always amazes me how anti-trinitarians such as Oneness and Arians always create straw man arguments by DISTORTING AND MISREPRESENTING the Biblical doctrine of the Triune nature of the Godhead. They are well aware that they cannot refute the Biblical doctrine of the Trinity as it is revealed in the Bible, so they resort to distorting it and trying to tear it apart that way.

"Some bring God's curse on them by marking off part of the Bible, calling it erroneous, uninspired, less than the very Word of God." - Dr. John R. Rice

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God to salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16)
