I give credit to the U.S. for fighting and winning the Pacific war against Japan -almost single-handendly- but as for the European theater ... they came in and mopped up. The Germans had far superior tanks and tactics etc. but .. the Germans were outnumbered, swamped and decimated when the Americans joined in.

The Battle of the Bulge, (Europe), IMO was also another significant American engagement.
