Would you expect 'prayer' to have the desired effect even without earning that right?

Would you explain your idea of prayer - for example, is an American prayer more potent that a Muslim prayer? Muslims do seem mindful of their god several times each day and not just when wanting some favour.

How can the quality/ potency/ value of different prayers be assessed?

Where do Jewish prayers rate in the pecking order? Or Canadian prayers?
